As you may or may not now, Group T is an International University College, which means at least 12,5% of its students is international.
As we represent all students, we can't allow ourselves to communicate only in Dutch.
From now on you'll find all - or at least most - information of Studentenraad on the English website, which you are reading now.
What does the studentenraad do?
The General Assembly (AV) is the students' council's most important organ.
Everyone is welcome on this assembly but be aware that this assembly is Dutch-spoken and that only the elected student representatives have the right to vote.
Subjects in this assembly are: defining our position, updating eachother by the representatives from other (external) councils, committees and working groups, spreading out the tasks...
6 managers form the students' council's Board of Directors (RVB): the chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, departmental coordinator Educating College and departemental coordinator Engineering College.
A Board of Directors-meeting can be convened by one of the members to discuss urgent or delicate mathers.
Normally, only the members of this Board of Directors are invited on these meetings.
SR International is a consultative body between the Studentenraad and the international students.
This organ has an advising role to the General Council of the Studentenraad concerning problems, potential improvements and the like.
SR International has also the ability to organize activities.
Serveral committees are active to optimize the representation:
Educational committee: discussions about the curriculum, educational problems, preparation of standpoints and recommendations, preparation of the Academic en Departemental Council
Social committee: discussions about the social services, preparation of standpoints and recommendations, preparation of the InterS Board of Members en General Council meetings
Committee for external mathers: preparation of important opinions inside VVS, LOKO and StAL
The activities and the permanent tasks are spread out between the Studentenraad members and volunteers.
